"Banger: I had to try 4 boxes of Smegma nails to get just one that was sharp."
Like Cicala mentioned at the end of the piece, "(It has) been reposted to forums involving gun collecting, coffee tasting, audiophiles, automobiles, computer programming, videography, racing bicycles, and (I should have known) various tools. All of whom identified with it. So I guess I learned today that it isn’t just photographers who act like we act. Apparently it’s people."
Just about spit out my coffee this morning: My dad is a civil engineer and a general contractor and now retired. My younger brother also does some construction, just not with my dad... Anyways, my brother got asked to help a buddy with a job and didn't have his hammer with him, so he borrowed my dad's favorite framing hammer. Well, as a practical joke, he buddy cut the handle off with a circular saw "accidentally."
My brother is no longer allowed to borrow tools from my dad.
Thanks for the post (I think its been posted here before), I needed the laugh! Oh, and thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Great post. It reminds me of a line in an episode of Wings where Helen said to Joe "you just have to suck all the fun out of this" referring to his overly-compulsive attitude towards a game. Photography is fun, a lot of fun. Let's not suck all the fun out of it!
