The show is over, and we ask for a great round of applause for our dedicated volunteers who helped us introduce the Nikonians community to our many curious visitors:

Rich Borovoy, Jon Bloom, Bob Lott, Stephen Berger and Lee Baylin added the all-important human element, showing by their gracious, professional and friendly personalities the caliber of members we have.

Below: we have a few photos and some thoughts on the three-day event.

The first day of the 2006 PhotoPlus Expo in New York City had three of us at the Nikonians Booth (Number 1352) busy greeting an amazingly large crowd of curious visitors asking about the site and the community. Some of our visitors returned a few hours later to grab a seat in the booth and grill us with questions about how the community could help them solve issues with their cameras and shooting techniques.

Equally amazing was the stroke of good fortune that consistently had a fellow Nikonian somewhere in the crowd in front of our booth, who quickly added "You've got to check their site man, it's great."

Photos are posted below (captions follow):

Photo One:

Helping out on Day One, Nikonians Bob Lott (JustBob), on left, and Rich Borovoy (Efem) prepared by inventorying our selection of Nikonians hats, T-shirts, Spuds Cloths and patches available to Nikonians at a show discount (not to mention no shipping charge

Photo Two:

Of all our Nikonians visitors, this trio made it all the way from Japan. They were on hand representing the Gin-Ichi Photo Equipment Company. They took time to chat with us, and one gentleman mentioned off-hand that he's been a Nikonian for nearly a year. He and his associates didn't just admire our goodies -- they purchased T-shirts, hats, patches and a Pro-Strap before they said goodbye for the day. Shown are, from left, assistant manager Shigeru Arai; executive director Toshinari Niwa; and marketing and sales promotion assistant manager Arato Ogura.

Photo Three:

Hibbard Smith tried a Nikonians floppy hat on for size before buying it, and then casually mentioned he was a former Gold Member who has just recently rejoined the community.

Day Two in Friday starts at 9 a.m. for Gold Pass ticket holders and 10 a.m. for the regular admission folks. The hall will close at 5 p.m.

Don't forget to stop at Booth 1352 and say hi!
