A minor irritation. As I type this, it is still February 2009 here on the East Coast of the USA, and it will be February for five hours longer in Hawaii even after February has ceased for me here in NY. I finally had some free time this evening to do a little post processing on a "cold" image that I had had in mind. I did the tune up. Too bad, though. The contest web page is closed even though it is still February in my little part of the world. Hmmm. Was it GMT?
I suggest that it would be a little clearer, and fairer, to members if the contest rules would state precisely whose February or time frame is being used to start and end time periods for submissions.
Dave, I hope you can understand that each segment is open for approx. a month. Being that are world is divided into two different days at any exact moment in time. We have been operating the contest in the same approx. time frame. The contest opens on the first of the month and closes on the last day of the month. There is nothing automated about it. Most of our participants find it convenient for them to post their entry during the time frame available. There is no need for an exact time to be stated for the opening and closing of the contest segments.
As a world wide community, this practice has worked for 3 years now. It cant be exact for everyone and I hope you understand.

My first message was probably not explicit enough. Let’s begin again.
I have a Silver Nikonians’ membership since the beginning of 2009. This should (and was) giving me the privilege to vote for my favorite photo in The Best of Nikonians 2009 gallery.
For some days, I cannot rate any picture. In fact, the “Thumbs-up” icons are no more display on my screen. I thought that my “membership” was not recognized, but I have checked and the system see my username as a valid silver member.
Furthermore, when I look back to photos submitted in April and May, all the rate fields are set to “none”. For the previous months, I can see the rates that were attributed.
Thanks for your help.

Jean Pierre, The access and rating rules have not changed. It is likely a cookie thing.
Logout purposely using the Logout link at the top right on all forum pages. Delete all your Nikonians cookies. Turn your browser off. Turn it on again and Login manually here: https://www.nikonians.org/forums/dcboard.php?az=login Or go directly to the Galleries and login there. That should do it.
The new Internet Explorer 8 and Safari 4.0 have shown some strange behavior in some confgurations.
I followed this link and tried to follow the directions that said I should log into the gallery server and follow the upload link. So far so good. The next instruction said I should select the appropriate month, but I could not find such a link. In the end, the best I was able to do was to upload my photo to my own "gallery." Are more elementary instructions available somewhere?
Thank you for your prompt reply. I followed the link and arrived at the gallery for June 2009. I had found this location previously, but cannot find a place there to upload for the contest. There is an upload photos button at the top of the page, but it just took me to a place to upload to my own gallery. The drop-down menu where the option for downloading to my own gallery is located did not reveal any selection option for the June contest.
I'm sorry to be a bother, but I really would like to submit something.
Quick question that I was not able to find in the contest rules. I noticed in the respective months galleries that the winner is always the first image. My question is: Are the rest of the images there arranged in the final selection order or just random. It would be helpful if I could see how I ranked.
