Ruins of the Van Patten Mountain Camp also known as Dripping Springs Hotel. Was built in the late 1800's as a retreat for the "Well to Do" just outside of Las Cruces New Mexico. It is a small one hour hike up to the ruins and makes a nice "day trip". This is a 5 shot image blended in Photomatix. D300s Tokina 11-16mm @13mm f/11 1/320s ISO 200 5 shots (-2 to +2)
This was taken last month in Janauary, right after we had our little "snow storm". My son was still with us visiting for the holidays and we decided to make a day of it. We went hiking to Dripping Springs and then to dinner at La Posta

The Mexican food (at La Posta) isn't the best in Las Cruces or Mesilla, but the place has a certain ambu-lance. We almost always eat there. Or at Andale's or Los Mariachis.
LP's Mexican slaw recipe was changed; it's no longer one of my fave dishes. Killer house margaritas, though. If you're even in Albuquerque, visit El Pinto. I believe the daughters of LP started El Pinto. Similar fare.
