One of the tigers at the zoo in Racine, WI. I shot this as he (she?) was pacing towards me at a good pace. I would have rather gotten the whole face but this is the full capture I ended up with. Shooting through the vertical wires that keep the animals and people apart. I think that's what caused the funny vertical lines in the left of the photo. 55-200 AF-S VR at 200mm. f5.6 1/200 and +1EV Critique always welcome.
Well as you mentioned this is all you could get. It would have been very nice if you were able to have the ears and the right side of the head in the frame. The eyes do is for me a determined look they are. Maybe next time you will have the chance to catch Him/Her just right. Nice color and crisp focus. The stuff at the left side of the image well, a good deal of work in Photoshop and you could remove it. Better luck next time.
I agree, there's a lot that can be done with my original. I've been working on levels and curves, plus getting my USM so it looks okay, so I haven't been working on color much for the past couple of weeks. I like yours better than the square crop I did.
