This is a fantastic image. I love the dappled light on the forest floor. I can't remember when I've seen light streaming through the trees where the contrast was managed like it is here. Did you do something special or is it the fact that the trees have light-colored bark and the scattered light helps illuminate the shadows?

I think the largest factor was the foliage, it was really pretty random some thick and heavy and other places sparse, the area I metered was one of the more shady areas (which I think is why the top sky portion is a bit blown out). Thanks so much for your kind words.
