I was looking for a sunset that came to nothing so I improvised with this. Should have used a higher ISO to get a faster speed though. It's a funny thought, having to "freeze" the moon. It moves very fast through a 300mm DX lens
Forget the missed sunset - this shot is just as rewarding. The thing that makes it for me is the tuft of grass which is in front of the moon at the point where it just kisses the horizon. Superb detail, most enjoyable.

I was trying to get a slight gap between the hill and the moon but just couldn't get high enough. There was no point waiting for the moon to rise as the clouds were rolling in and eventually covered the moon all together (mass call:- "covered the moon" - Airplane, couldn't resist).
