Funny you should mention spots on sensor. I noticed the same when I first viewed the shot. Didn't have time to Photoshop them out, and frankly I didn't think they'd show through after the image size was reduced for posting.
Had the D2X camera since 6/05 and it's been in twice for cleaning. Every time I get near the ocean it seems to pick up new spots.
Anyone have any wisdom regarding how to avoid this happening (other than never change lenses), or ways to clean it without taking the body in for service? I actually put the mirror up and used a ball blower to get dust specs off - waiting for more clear sky to test and see if that did it.
Hi - Re sensor cleaning: Try searching the threads on the issue - lots of discussion and basigally two methods - damp swabs or special brushes.
Sometimes the dust won't come off with a blower. I use the digipads (www.digipad.co.uk) basically an ultra clean residue free swab for use once with 3 drops only of eclipse fluid and the camera on lock up with a power supply.
Seems to work fine. I think DP would be impossible if we had to send the camera off for cleaning every time
