The original is very dark and dull. I learned how to do curves properly over the weekend and it's a completely different image now, but lacks color in the sky. I wish I knew how to fix the sky in a way that will look natural. Maybe next weekend ...
This is Long Beach Bar (AKA) The Bug Light in Greenport Long Island it sits out on a peninsula when the tide is low you can walk right out to the lighthouse it is a good 2 1/2 mile walk out to this lighthouse I walked out there last winter it was so windy and cold,You can spend a night or a weekend in this lighthouse and it is not cheap.
Someone already posted a shot of this one, but here's another view of the Nauset Light on Cape Cod. We were in a hurry, and this is the only shot my wife let me take as we were driving by. I did what I could with the trees. I didn't have the benefit of a great sky either. You win some, you lose some.
Does anyone else drive their family crazy by stopping the car for a photo opportunity?
Dan I was suppose to go up to Cape Cod this fall changed the tour till June. My brother lives in Gilboa which is about 15 to 18 miles from Kingston. This is Abescon Light in New Jersey I hope I spelled it right
Some really great lighthouse photos have been posted. I thought I would just send these two from Wollongong on Australia's east coast. You will notice we think they are pretty important & will take whatever steps necessary to protect them. These two lighthouses are about 200 metres apart.
This is Jeffery's Hook (aka) Little Red Lighthouse a famous childrens book was written about this lighthouse, This lighthouse is under the George Washington bridge on the New York side.I took this picture last March.
Here are two that I took when I first started getting serious about photography. This is Point Judith, RI at the Coast Guard station. As I recall I had my Nikon FM, with a 50 f/1.8. Not the best work, but I always liked these.
And they are not kidding about the noise....
