Every now and then, one is treated to some spectacular shows in nature. The first golden rays of the sun, falling on the Kanchenjunga peaks, the third tallest of the Himalayan ranges was an awesome sight. Taken at Pelling, Sikkim, India
Spectacular, Premachandran, but I'm sure it was much more glorious to your naked eyes. As viewed in my browser -- Firefox 20 -- the mountains are too dark for my tastes. But when I copied and pasted into CS5 to play with adjusting, your image looked just fine. I don't know why the difference. Great image!
Friends, thank you very much for your appreciation and comments. Definitely it was an awesome sight and much more glorious than what you see here. Yes, it was as though it was on fire.
@ Gene luck: I live at the southern most part of India and miles away from this scene. You can make a trip to this place on your next trip to India. Can give you some useful tips
@ Scottie: I had a 70-300 with me, but there was no time to change the lens, as the colours were rapidly changing every minute. I was on the terrace of the hotel and did not want to miss the action in the sky, by going down and getting my tele. Anyway, I have a closer view of the right side of the scene for you. Hope you like it.
