Sigma 8-16; 2 shots,then a 5 shot stitch,Emigant Lake
D5100, Microsoft ICE, HH, manual exposure, over 180 degrees,12mm?
Shots 2 and 3 are straight shots cropped,16mm?
Next I have to use the best lens in the world...for the straight shot...then cropped to pano.
... TOKINA 10-17 held level
Sorry ...first is the stitch....
I find that wider that Tokina is ...makes it a more satisfing Pano.
Add - Hi to all.
Actually...I used the Sigma on 16mm end for two cropped straight shots...so this is a good lens for cutting out pano-s.
Happy day / Larry

I was just wondering where you were. I have not seen any of your postings lately. It looks like the wide panos were shot with the camera in the landscape position, next time consider having the camera in the portrait position even when shooting left to right panos. I could be wrong. Did you say handheld? Not bad!

Hi Laddie , yes HH.I was at Emigrant Lake...near Ahsland OR.
(I'm anti-tripod...though I have Soligor 800mm f8 straightlens- on the way).
Yes,better if I use portrait position .
Usually - I'll use my next lens up...Nikkor 18-55...in portrait...
and ,though stitching is...(fun),...I'm leaning toward Sigma 8-16mm and Tokina 10-17(very level, center cut),for my pano stuff....1:2 through 1:5.
I been buying and selling alot on ebay....lenses,cameras 50's throughearly 80's.,including medium format.
I'm very happy and content with my digital outfit - D5100,Sunex 5.6mm,Tokina 10-17mm,Sigma 8-16mm,kit Nikon 18-55mmVR and 55-200mmVR,and an Olympus 1.7x that I use with alot of care....screwed into the front of my 55-200.
How many people are "set - content.!"? with their MAIN outfit.
Real nice to hear from you...I been in 'Non-Nikon camera' alot
...but I love pano - when I get to it...I think it my be as wonderful a format as 1:1 square./
ADD - ie;I am VERY CONTENT with my last picture posted (above).
