Last weekend I spent the weekend in the California High Sierra, in and near Yosemite National Park, and I was able to photograph lots of colorful wildflowers, which are usually in full bloom in July. Look at the great colors... varieties of red, yellow, purple, orange...

The challenge was the bright sun during the day when we did our hikes. I even caught a few nice butterflies on the beautiful flowers.

D90, tried out my recently bought 300mm f/4 AF, mostly Aperture priority between f/4 and f/11 to have shallow DOF or to maintain sharpness. Sometimes exposure compensation against the bright light.

Comments and critique welcome.

Matt, Nikonian from the SF Bay Area, California
