Hello all sports shooters.

I want a D4 but a used D3 or D3x is all I can afford . I need your advice since I am shooting a lot more sports than portraits for some reason. (HS football, MLS Soccer, MMA) This is a new world since I am used to having lots of light from my Dyna lites.

Using my Nikon 2.8 VR 70-200. Can I get good low noise high ISO shots at 500 600 sec When the lighting is marginal?...When does the ISO become too noisy for these cameras? I shoot a D2x now I assume I will notice a diff in low light shooting if I go with the D3.

I also assume the D3x is too slow and noisy at anything over 1600 iso so I am leaning toward buying the D3 but I could be wrong. ) Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks again

Bob
