Norcross High School Lady Blue was ranked 3rd in the state behind the undefeated #2 Parkview Panthers, which some polls had ranked as high as 10th in the nation. Norcross is led by two nationally ranked players, Diamond DeShields (22) and Shayla Cooper (32) whereas Parkview lacked the star power but had a deeper bench. Norcross eventually won 59 - 51 in double OT becoming one of the Elite 8. This puts both our boys and girls teams in the Elite 8.
All three of the top ranked women's teams in Georgia, North Gwinnet being the third, came from Gwinnett County.
These were all shot with FP flash synch with two SB800s in the rails above the gym at 1/500 f2.8 or slightly smaller. I used PW TT5's and an AC3 and shot in TTL. I shot the boys game the next night with manual flash at 1/2 power like many have suggested, but I think I like the results with TTL better. The gym for the girl's game also has one stop better light so the ISO was lower.
They played tonight and handily beat the #1 seed from a less competitive region. We are off to Georgia Tech for the Final Four on Saturday. I wasn't able to use flash tonight and am just processing them. We'll see. I have really become partial to flash for basketball.

Nice shots Bob, I am also partial to #5. I am not a fan of Flash at all but these do not exhibit too much of the flash look, they are pretty well balanced. I will compare them to the other post and let you know my opinion for what it is worth.
edit to add Good Luck this weekend!

Thanks for looking Marc. I saw your post on the other as well. I'm pretty happy with the flash. The shots tonight without the flash are just not as vibrant. Each method has their drawbacks.
I bought a third clamp today and a snoot. I'm going to see if I can mount a SB900 in the center behind the basket, bounce it off the ceiling and fill in some of the shadow that comes from the having one flash on each side.
Thanks Bob. They ended up winning state, as did the boys. For the first time in Georgia history, a school has won the state championships at the highest classification in football, boys' basketball and girls' basketball.

Thanks for the kind words. I did not gel the flashes. I'm not sure how that would work with all the issues associated with the cycling of the gym lights.
The info's on Dave Black's site. He uses manual flash but I like the ttl better. I would like to be able to set the flashes across from each other as he does but that isn't going to happen in the gym we play in. The videos are short and worth watching.
