Linwood, I can't stop laughing at the picture of the overloaded photographer! Great shot! Thanks for posting.
Chris, are those knee pads that the photographer is wearing the type you normally don when you do your deep knee bends? I hope that yours make more of a fashion statement! On a more serious note is there by any chance a type of knee pad that can be sworn under the pants? If so, that would help minimize the geek factor. I might even go for that type.
I sit for basketball, but often kneel for field sports. I rarely use kneepads, but when I do I use the ones that have the hard outer shell. They actually provide better protection than the foam ones, which compress over time. There's a reason masons and carpet installers prefer the hard shells.
Chris does raise a potential point about damage to the gym floor, although I doubt it, given the shoes worn by the coaches and others.
Stop the presses! Stop the presses! We have a reliable report that Mr. Wraight, one of the last of the hardcore JPEG sports shooters, has shot a swimming meet RAW. Holy Toledo! Send out a reporter to get the story ASAP. Find out if he has finally succumbed to the allure of RAW or whether this is merely a temporary deviation from his normal MO.
>Yeah, I just found out that TMZ delayed their "Lance >Armstrong Ready To Come Clean" story in order to issue >their report on the "Wraight Goes RAW" episode >first.
Well, both Raw and Steroids improve performance, and are addictive once you use them for a while. And like Steriods, Raw is often used by sports photographers, but few will admit to it. So I can see how the stories track together.
