It was homecoming at the local ball yard Friday night. Our varsity outscored the opposition 49 - 3 through the first 2 minutes of the 3rd qtr. JV took over and held them scoreless through the first 2 minutes of the 4th. They finally scored 2 TD's against our freshman unit for a final score of 49 - 17.
Each year for the homecoming game the players wear special one-and-done jerseys. This year someone thought camouflage would look good. My son thought they were pretty cool and would have been even better had the pattern been larger. Personally I can live w/o seeing them again!
A few pics from the game are attached. C&C welcome.
Thanks Chris. He suffered a nasty bruise to the hand via a helmut early in the game. Since we took control early the coaches played him sparingly after that. He wasn't happy since his touches are way down from last year. Other than our 2nd game of the season where we won by only 5 points we've been blowing out the competition and playing the backups, JV & freshmen. It's a nice problem to have.
Time has changed everything. I'm 59 years old. Ran tailback in high school at 135-145 pounds and pretty much had my way in a competitive conference. The biggest linebacker was maybe 170 pounds. D-linemen went maybe 200-230 pounds. Last week I went to a HS game with D-linemen tipping the scales at 300+ and LBs looking like pros. Scary.
