The home team in red had a bad time on this night going down in 3 straight sets. They had beaten a local rival the night before, but it took them 4 games and they all were decided by 2 or 3 points, so I think they were worn out. These are cropped loose as they were to go on my site and I downsized them for here. Not as good as some others on here, but not bad considering this is not my sport to shoot I guess.
All shot with the D7000 and 80-20mm f2.8 at 1/400 SS, f3.5 and ISO 4000. I got a little motion blur in a couple, but to get the shutter speed I really needed I had to go to ISO 6400 and I don't like the pics at that setting. The only noise reduction used here is in my Photoshop Elements. And yes.... number 25 is the "heavy hitter" on the team. I am pretty sure one of her spikes could break your nose.

Thanks Bob. As for the focus.... I cheat. I actually try to focus on the player right below the net. Since they are usually on the same plane from top to bottom, it works most of the time, for me anyway. That is also why I don't shoot wide open at f2.8. Gives me a little extra DOF.
This gym looks pretty bright. Would you add one photo. A photo shot at 6400. I am just curious. I am thinking about buying a D7000. Its just newspaper stuff. I know how easy its is to shoot volleyball. Great job Keith. Got anymore indoor stuff with 7000?
