How can I inprove sharpness and speed of F801s AF with Tamron 80-210 AF and Tamron x2 converter. I'm photografing car and bike races.

Could you try to be a little more specific in what you mean by "improve sharpness". Are you unhappy with the pictures you are getting, or are you happy with them but want improvement?
What type of film are you using? What type of settings are you typically using? Do you have any of your racing pictures that you can post so we can see them?

I'm afraid you have to buy an expensive fast 300/2,8 lens so you don't have to use your 2X convertor. Using your convertor means losing two stops of light and a little loss of image quality (=sharpness). Use aperture priority and set it to maximum opening (2,8). You'll need all the speed you can to take sharp images. Otherwise, try panning (following the moving car with the lens in a fluid way while shooting)so the background is blurred and the car stays relatively sharp. It gives a nice sense of movement. Be prepared to shoot a lot of film in order to get some good results.
