Spring on a frozen inland lake

This is Cedar Lake in Leelanau County just outside Traverse City. As a kid my buddy and I would swim here occasionally, although I never liked muddy bottomed lakes (always preferred nearby Lake Michigan which was clear and didn't harbor large snapping turtles like Cedar Lake This late in the spring and there was still a thin layer of ice over most of it. You can see a dock belonging to one of the many homeowners who live here. It's one of many small lakes in this part of the state that make for great fishing or canoeing when the weather is good. Shot this from the dock at the public boat launch.
