This months theme, selected by last months winner, nrothschild, is Food. From Neil, "Any animal subject is welcome, birds, reptiles, mammals (not insects). The subject must have food under its control or it can be actively feeding its young. Pictures of the subject hunting may qualify if its prey is under the hunters control. For example, a bear with a salmon in its paws is okay but a bear watching salmon is not since it is not in control of its food in the photo.” Non-Captive Only for this one.
Below are a few from Neil to help inspire the theme!

Happened to catch this shot just as the Snowy Egret snagged a bit of food. D200 with 70-200 VR and Nikon 1.7 TC mounted for a 340 mm effective focal length before crop factor. Camera and lens mounted on a Star D100 tripod with Markins 20 ballhead. f/5.6, 1/750, ISO 200. Image cropped and processed in Capture NX and then finished in PSCS3 Extended.
GBH spotted a dove fluttering on the ground and went over to investigate. Grabbed it and went down to the water where it dunked it to wet the feathers and after a half hour of trying to get the wings past it's jaw it swallowed it. Thanks for looking, Rick D2H w 600/4 and TC-14e f5.6@1/1000 sec, iso 320
