Out of 6000 images, submitted by more than 400 photographers from 21 countries, CB’s breathtaking image “Fight!” has been selected as the overall winner!
It was made on his recent photo trip to the Kalahari in March this year, on an early morning drive along the dry riverbed of the Aob-River, close to the Mata-Mata camp.
Shortly before sunrise, CB saw the 2 wildebeest engaged in fight. Knowing the sun would rise just right behind them, he stopped his car and waited for the perfect light –anticipating a silhouette shot.
The formation of dust from the fight perfectly reflected the golden rays of first sunlight. Only 2-3 minutes later, both rivals went their own way calling it another day.
Many days and hours patiently waiting for the perfect shot paid off!
We are sure we will see many more great images from this passionate Nikonian wildlife photographer and gifted teacher.
Claus, Absolutely stunning photograph, a beautiful work of art. I first saw this while at work. I called several colleagues to come look at the image on the screen. The response was universal: "That is the most beautiful photograph I have ever seen!". One person said, "It belongs in the Louvre."
Thanks for having the creative mind that saw and captured this image. Work like this enriches all of us.
