weston master universal light meter

Any fellow Nikonians can you help me ,I have just been given a "Weston Master universal meter".Would welcome any info on how to use it correctly.
1, do i set asa in the red area,
2, main window does this show film speeds or amount of light.
3,Do i hold meter so that light falls on rear cell,is this for reflected light or incedent light readings?
4,rear flip up/down screen how to use.
5 front markings "light with arrow numbers from 1 through to 1600
6,I understand F stops with shutter speeds.
7,centre dial large white arrow,letters, A1/2, Cx2, O, U
P.S.any idea of age/year it was made 60's-50's
