Boxing Day came from giving gifts to the poor the day after X-mas, or something like that. However, I like your indirect explaination better. Now I must confess. My wife bought me yet another coffee mug and 2 pairs of cheap socks. (3rd coffee mug this month.) I pretended I was surprised and joyful. Ho ho ho.
I got myself a Panasonic FZ20. Its a 5mp 36-432mm image stablized Leica lens. It has had rave reviews. It feels very much like a DSLR and I agree that the picture quality is not like a DSLR. I would like to see a similar camera from Nikon that would have a huge telephoto range say 200 to 800mm. This could be achieved with a smaller sensor and some excellent glass. It would affect the sales of the high priced telephoto lenses but they would make a killing with such a camera. Ted
Yep, the better half got me a new used Leica M4 with used 35mm and 90mm lense. Got to love how understanding she is! Now if it will warm up from the -30 to -40C we are now having I might be able to get out and road test it. Getting too old to torture myself. Vancouver does have it's benefits Frank you lucky dog.
Ruff, ruff---bark! Where's my Leica M4? And it's been raining cats and dogs all X-mas day (today). The good news? It's going to warm up here in the next few days. I don't mind the cold if it's sunny, but my body doesn't. The cold drives down my red blood cells. Wasn't the M4, "Made in Canada?"
At least you don't have to shovel rain. I always wondered why I was cold, red blood cells you say. A lot of M4's were made in CANADA but unfortunately mine was made in the Fatherland. I say unfortunately because I heard that they don't know how to make cameras over there, yeah right. Would have been nice to have a CDN body EH.
I didn't get, but gave instead a Minilux Zoom to my wife. She needed something compact and simple to use for birthday parties, etc. when dragging out the F100 is not practical. I even got the detachable flash for it which is a nice accessory.
Well, I did find that auto everything zoom Pentax last week beside the garbage, which I gave to my wife. Since that cam looked brand new, worked, and even had a fresh roll of film in it, I guess that counts as a X-mas gift from me to the other half. It was a good thing that this didn't cost me anything. I hate spending money unless it's for myself.
