Just ordered an XPAN, does anyone here own one?
After going in circles trying to decide what medium format camera (if any) to buy, I just placed an order for the Hasselblad (Fuji) XPAN instead. I'm getting the kit with the 45mm lens and I'll also get the center gradient filter.
I'll be able to scan the pano frames with my 35mm slide scanner in two chunks, so I won't be faced with expensive drum scans or a pricey medium format scanner.
I'd appreciate any advice or comments you can offer.

I had been toying with the idea myself for quite some time.
It should prove itself quite valuable on your raft trips.
Those canyons really ask for panoramic shots.
The Hasselblad 45mm f/4 for the dual format XPAN is a beauty, with focusing range from 0.7m to infinity produces a view angle approximately equal to that of a 25mm lens in 35mm terms when the camera is set at the panoramic format.
Congratulations. Keep us posted.

I'm quite excited about this camera. I'm going to have to buy a very expensive center gradient filter for the 45mm, but I found a grey market kit that will save me over $600 on the body and lens. Lori and I will be heading out to experience the annual Hawkwatch later this month. I'll have some expansive Basin and Range landscapes to work with.
I should have my first test roll shots to share in a week...

I took delivery of the Xpan, bought from a New York camera store, one day before terror war struck the city. The person who won the bidding in the ebay auction for my 16mm Nikkor (sold to help finance the Xpan) lives and works just a few blocks from the World Trade Center. It's such a small world and there are myriad connections between us all.
I'll always associate this camera with this dark event. New York is the U.S. center of the universe for all things photographic. My heart goes out to the good people there. Perhaps someday I'll be able to photograph a renewed New York skyline with this camera.
