For those unfamiliar with the Sony HDR Paint photo effect, these two images are taken 30 seconds apart with a NEX-6 using the 18-200mm Sony lens. The first is set to standard, all default settings, using P mode. The second is with the HDR Paint photo effect set to medium. Note that the effect makes the bokeh less attractive but raises the detail of the subject. It works much better with colorful art objects and wide shots of landscape.
The third shot is from the Sony RX100 using HDR Paint photo effect set to medium.
