OK . . . I know I am eccentric, but I am in love with my new RX1 camera.
I know it is insanely expensive, but it is the first coat pocket camera that I have had where I don't find myself saying "I wish I had my good camera with me." My "good" camera is the D800E ... amazing camera!

I have a Fuji X100 ... great camera for image quality
I have a Nikon V1 ... great camera for auto focus in bright daylight (I use if with the 30-110 for moments when I am shy)
I have an NEX 7 ... with all the adapters for my various lenses and I hardly ever make use of it
I have an M9 with an M240 on order ... quirky cameras with some of the best optics on the planet. I am insane and my eyes are having trouble focusing as I age.

Michael Mariant would be proud of me as the RX1 has a fixed 35mm lens (on a full frame sensor). That is all I have been carrying of late.
The image quality is superb.
It forces one to zoom with their feet and get into the "action."

Like other small cameras, its pocketable size facilitates being ready when "luck" happens, and as the alumni of my workshops know:
1. I believe that "Luck" is the highest form of photographic enlightenment, and the cool thing is that:
2. I believe we all get "lucky" with great photographic opportunities, but most of us are not ready with a camera when the photographic opportunities are given to us.

Regards to all,
