I am not sure if I am posting this in the right forum, I apologize if it is the wrong one.
My neighbor just gave me an old lens mounted on a wood square, the info printed on it says "Kodak Portrait Lens 405mm 16 inches f/4.5 RY113." I have tried online searches to get more info with no luck. Does anyone have any info about it?

That's a large format lens, probably for an 8x10 view camera. f4.5 is extremely fast for an 8x10 lens. If you search for "Kodak Portrait Lens 16 405mm inches f/4.5" you'll get some info. There's a forum at largeformatphotography.info, if you ask there I'm sure you can get plenty of info about it, they love big old lenses.
this page shows some selling for $500+.

Does the lens look like this one? While it is not the same focal length I believe it was made in the same time period as the one you have.
And is it mounted with the shutter?
In any case the lens is probably somewhat rare and very old.
