Hi, I bought a Vivitar 500mm mirror lens for my Nikon N70 through B&H photovideo. They supplied a Bower T mount adapter for Nikon. Once I mount that plastic adapter on my camera I have to struggle hard to take it off. i am worried that in the process, I may damage the electronic contacts on the camera
I want to know if anybody is using these T mount adapters on their Nikon autofocus SLRs; their experience; if they are really safe for camera and where to get a reasonbly good, standard brand adapter which does not damage the camera mount.

T mount adapters were necessary for non-OEM lenses for my manual cameras. Typical of the time were the non-AI Tamron Adaptall. I never used them on AF cameras precisely due to the fear you extern of damaging the electronics. However, I never found out if those fears were founded or not.
Could someone else help?
