Fuji S1 and Nikon AF Teleconverters
I was wondering if anyone has tried using a Nikon (or other) AF 1.4X or 2.0X telecoverter with a Fuji Finepix S1? Wondering if (1) it works, and (2) what kind of results (sharpness, contrast, etc) you got. I plan to use the teleconverter with the AF Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8
Thanks for your help.

If you want you AF to work and you want a 2 times converter, you will have to buy a converter other than a nikon, because Nikon just doesn't have 2 times AF converter. Anyway, not for a regular 80-200/2.8 .
they do have it for the af-s version. But you can't use that one since you have an s1.
Go for a kenko or a vivitar pro-series. anyway a 7-lens design. not a 5-lens design.
You'll have the use of your AF and they are quit good and not to expensive.
NIKON is GOLD
NIKKOR is HOLY
