window mount & table top / mini tripod?
Anyone have a window mount tripod (for lack of a better word) that they really like?
Same question on the table top / mini tripods?
Are the Bogan / Manfrotto ones any good?
What head goes well w these?

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I've found a "beanbag" solution that I prefer to using a mini tripod. It can be used as both a window mount and will also serve as a more stable version of a mini tripod. Take a look at the Kinesis Safari Sack and the similar bag from Kirk Enterprises. I recently bought one and find it to be superior to both the window-mount clamp that I have and to the Manfrotto mini tripod with a tiny ball head.
You can put a larger head on the mini tripod that will support a heavier camera/lens combo. You still might want one of these if only for the tiny size. The Manfrotto 209 pod is much better made than the others I've tried. The 345 kit is quite interesting - it includes a 209 pod, a ballhead and an adjustable riser colum - all with a nice carrying pouch.
Here are some links:
What has sold me on the beanbag solution is shooting at shutter speeds of 1/125 with 600mm of lens. The bag steadied the lens enough to get sharp images at speeds that are really low for this long optic. You can carry the bag empty when you travel and fill it with sand or a water bladder when you need it.
