Bogen 3021 vs 3011
I'm trying to decide. Which do you like better, and why?
Thanks in advance

I'm of the opinion that all tripods are a pain to carry and I do a lot of landscape photography with long exposures and small aperatures so I opted for the 3021Pro and the 3047 3-way pan head. The combination works great; it's a bit heavy but I have yet to get a blurred image from wind against the tripod or whatever.
The "Pro" model is particularly interesting as it allows you to put the centre-column horizontally for shooting objects from directly overhead (macros of flowers, for example).

The 3011 is slightly shorter when folded than the 3021, and slightly less tall as a consequence, but you save a little weight. Price difference not that big. Your choice.
Maybe to see more dramatic differences it could be useful to compare them both with the 3001.
I have both the 3021BN (black) and the 3001N (chrome) and very happy with them. Stable, fast to open and close, very well built. Capable of holding a F5 with 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S and SB-28.
It might be important to say I am 5ft 7", so when adding to the legs the ballhead and the body, the viewfinder is at a comfortable height, without needing to extend the center column at all, to eliminate any possible instability.
As the weight differences between these two are bigger for me, I use the 3021 at home, the 3001 when out of my car.
If you are much taller, you might better look into other models like the 3221.

I've always been a firm believer of "bigger/heavier is better" (provides a much more stable platform) and "extended center columns lead to trouble" (vibration and swaying in the wind). I have the 3221WN (which is the now discontinued 'Wilderness' version of the 3021) with a Giottos 3002 ballhead. I went with it for the price-to-height ratio. You see, I stand 6'-4" tall and the 3021 series offered the best height (without the center column extended) and weight for the price without having to resort to carbon fiber. I have been nothing but pleased with this set-up and would recommend it to anyone. Of course, I'd prefer the 3036 or 3051; but, due to the travelling I do, don't want to lug either of these around.
Also, I believe it was Edward Weston that said, "If it is not within 500 feet of the car, it's not photogenic!" He WAS hauling around large format gear after all!!!
