Is a Kirk BH-3 (or BH-1) the correct size ball head for a D300 (no grip) and a Sigma 150-500? The weight rating for the BH-3 is 15 lbs and the D300/Sigma 150-500 should weight about 7 lbs. I know that 7 lbs is less than 15 lbs, but I want to hear a voice of experience before I make a mistake on the size. The tripod is well above the necessary rating for either head. I am not familiar with ball heads and how they perform within their ratings, so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Steve
