I replaced the hub for a Series 2 Mountaineer and the switch to a TH-200 is much worthy, weight-wise; while even gaining a bit in stability.
Have a great time :-)

I'm very pleased with the Series 3 Markins hub I have installed on my GT3541LS legs, but since that is a different model series I cannot speak to precise differences in the Series 2.
I do think the conical section of the Markins hub is superior to the "figure 8" of the Mountaineer mount. I did the same thing with my own older G1228 Series 2 CF, which results in the same geometry but weight savings may be different than with modern Series 2 and the hub. In my case the weight was about a push, in your case I think there is a significant reduction? You would have to weigh your mount (perhaps with the ground level set installed) and compare to the Th-200 weight spec.
