I have two Gitzo tripods. One has carbon legs and the other steel. I would like to replace the steel legs with carbon for the weight savings. The Gitzo catalog does not list legs as a separate item.
So, do you know if what I want to do is possible? I know they will be expensive.

You could call Manfrotto and ask for prices, or you could check www.gitzospares.com and add up the cost. I suspect it would run more than a new CF tripod but let us know how it adds up .
P.S. Since you own a steel and CF, presumably in the same series, I'm assuming you've tried the swap and it works. The leg joints would not necessarily fit the other mount.
