More money to throw at your Gitzo

Now we have new test results on the GT55xx & TH-500 hub (Super Gitzo), who is willing, able or eager to spend another $300/£250 (ex P&P, VAT, Customs) on a new Markins hub for their already expsensive tripod?

Ignoring cost, three advantages spring to mind.

1. Reduced total weight.
2. More compact when closed up for travel & storage.
3. The clincher for many - no more safety plate to secure camera/lens combo UNLESS the 3/8" hub bolt shears or the hub disintegrates!
One can now carry their gear on their shoulder with impunity.

I, having already modified my Gitzo's will wait awhile unless I win the lottery.

Natural Green as a colour seems odd?
