I'm relatively new to photography and attended a great photo workshop at Point Lobos yesterday taught by Doug Steakley, who's shot for Nat Geo, etc. There were 10 in the group and I had, by far, the crapiest tripod. (It was just an inexpensive video model.) So, today, I purchased a BH-40 ballhead and L-bracket from Really Right Stuff in San Luis Obispo. (The instructor felt RRS made the best ballheads and uses their BH-55 himself.) Trying to conserve funds, I purchased a Velbon GEOe530 carbon fiber tripod. It's very light at 2.8 lbs and around $350. Everything else I looked at (Gitzo, etc.) was 50-100% more costly +. As there is still time to cancel the tripod order, does anyone know if this is a good product?

Thanks, Jim
