Suggesta Tripod and Ball head please
At present I have a Velbon CX440 tripod with a fixed 3way Pan-Tilt head, but I find that it is inadequate for the present setup that I use, because I feel that it is not stable enough.
My present set up is as follows:
AF-S 18-55 VR
AF-S 300 f4
(I am planning to add a Tamron 90mmMacro to this list)
I love to shoot birds, Macro and Landscapes beside other subjects.
So please suggest a good tripod and a Ball-head for the above setup to be used for bird and nature photography. I would have loved to get a Gimbal Head, by I think those costs much more than ball heads.
Unfortunately, my budget is limited and would like to get the set up for $200- $250 (if possible).
Btw, are these new Gorillapods any good for my purpose?

If you're seeking more stability then, no, a Gorillapod will not be good for your purpose. It won't be as stable as your current setup.
Honestly, for the budget you are proposing, you will have difficulty improving on your tripod AND getting a reasonably good ballhead. I'd recommend you save for a while longer so you can spend a little more to get a good solid alloy tripod and a good ballhead. That will likely take you above $400.
If you must get something now and within that budget, I'd recommend an alloy tripod but sticking with a pan/tilt head. Induro makes some products that are likely much better than you're using. Something like their AKP adventure series tripod with their pan/tilt head.
