Gitzo GT3541 v GT3542 & Systematic v Mountaineer
Are the legs all the same between these models?
What did they change to claim a higher load capacity for the 42 versus 41? If you used a Markin MH-300, would it yield the same tripod of slightly different heights for all of them?

The new V2 Systematics have a more robust and triangular shaped mount that apparently accounts for the increased load capacity.
It is unclear to me what exactly was or will be changed on the Mountaineers, or if there will even be a general V2 update as occurred with the Systematics. I have not seen anything at all, but nor have I spent a lot of time looking. So if anyone has any Gitzo links to the Mountaineer changes, a link would be appreciated!
It should be noted that the "GT2542L" is listed in their now 3 year old 2009 PDF catalog. It is *not* a new 2012 model. There is some historical confusion with Gitzo's use of their 4th version digit. On a quick search at B&H and the Gitzo site I do not see any other "V2" Mountaineers.
I am unaware of any changes to the Systematic or Mountaineer legs themselves.
