The 0 series is quite petite and we don't discuss it much since most members want something more substantial. You have a couple of Gitzos so you know what they can do and I suspect you've thought this through. . I would suggest carefully checking one out in a store if possible to make sure it meets your needs.
I know 12-24mm is not difficult on a relative basis but it really is tiny
I believe that continues the unanimous streak going here on the Series 0 reviews. My impression was that it is an extremely well built but far too small tripod. It may be the best built tripod in its class. In general a tripod with 20mm legs would be a $30 price point big box special deal.
I guess you are referring to reports around the 'net about it being "rock solid". I didn't look; I just know they are there to be had. For just about any tripod .
It's hard to find reviews of tripods used by people that really understand the principles and have used a wide variety of sizes as a reference of comparison.
Gitzo used to make a Series 00, with legs 4mm diameter smaller than the Series 0. I think they discontinued that entire series.
I USED MY FEISOL CT-3441S WITH A RRS BH-30 THIS WEEKEND.THS D7000 RRS L BRACKET WITHOUT THE GRIP.I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH IT.VERY LIGHT WEIGHT BUT VERY STURDY.I THINK FEISOL TRIPODS ARE GOING TO GIVE THE HIGH END ONES SOME REAL COMPETITION.
