Been out of the loop with regards to tripods for a while now. Just recently heard that Markins has made a new product for Gitzo Mountaineer tripods.

Anyone have experience or information about this? Seems like an interesting product.

Does it actually increase the stability of a Gitzo mountaineer, or is it mainly for shedding weight? Does it reduce the "bulk" (total diameter of folded legs) of the tripod at all?

Does the hub provide the same leg splay angles as the mountaineer hub? I believe my tripod has 4 individual angles, including the "fully-flat" configuration.
