recomendations for a decent price tripod to travel Europe with
Im heading to Europe and Nepal this summer and fall to photograph. Any recommendations on a good sturdy tripod that I can travel with. I want something sturdier than a local Walmart brand but I want it cheap due to the excessive traveling and wear.....any suggestions??

First, I should tell you that I travel all over the world with my Gitzo GK2580TQR Traveler Series 2 (Head removed and RRS BH-40 on legs), not particularly cheap tripod/head which is about as light as you can get, compact for packing, yet sturdy to the limit of a Gitzo series 2 tripod, with no wear and tear visible, or felt operationally from traveling, whatsoever. Quality tripods last like quality tripods, while cheapies do have problems.
In the last year and a half, I've been over much of North America, Europe, and quite a bit in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
That being said, your profile is completely blank, so we have no idea what equipment your trying to support, etc., so making a recommendation is like shooting in the dark.
You also haven't given us any idea of what you consider "cheap." Cheap to some is darn expensive.
I will say, in advance, that sturdy, and for travel I assume light and compact, aren't very compatible with inexpensive.
I suggest reading the "What Tripod" article here at Nikonians. You can find it at:
It will give you an understanding about how to go about choosing a tripod which really makes sense, and describes various aspects of tripods which, in my opinion, are important to know.
