Where to get specifications for Kirk Plates?
Right now I'm trying to decide between a markins, kirk, or rrs plate for my d300 (yes, I know they aren't out yet, but I'm basing it off of the d200 plate specs). Markins and RRS both give length, width, height, and weight measurements, but I can't find anything on the kirk plates.

The Markins plate is bidirectional, so be aware that the actual plate length for either axis is shorter than either RRS or Kirk plates. Bidirectional can be nice because it doesn't matter how your ballhead clamp is oriented before you mount the plate. But it also has less contact area.
Do consider an L-bracket. It's really a better way to work with the plate system.
