I am the happy owner of a Gitzo 1325 with a Markins 20 ballhead.

I now have anew job that involved global travel and photography. My largest lens is a Tokina 100-300 F4.

I have a Think Tank Airport Accelerator -- to be carried on with camera gear, a toothbrush, water filter, a change of shorts, t-#####, etc. -- which the 1325 will not fit into, clearly.

My delimma is this --

Should I get another tripod for lugging around the world -- or simply insert the Gitzo in my checked baggage, and retrive it for use on-location?

If you feel I need a smaller tripod for effective travel mobility -- which one is the no-doubt best model to get?

I am tempted toward a Gitzo traveller, but it appears too flimsey compared to the 1325, and the cost scares me.
