Hey all,

I've got an old SLIK tripod with a 2-way head (so no easy switching to vertical shots) and I was thinking of getting just a ball head to put on top of it. Can you do this? It's got the standard screw on the top. Does the bottom of a ball head fit into that, or is it the wrong size?

Also, I was thinking of getting the inexpensive bogen 3009, says weight limit is 4.5 pounds, and I've got an N80 and my heaviest lens is a 70-300 ED. Is that enough?

Thanks,

Jason
