I'm going on a 4000 mile motorcycle trip next month from Canada to the SW US and am debating on whether or not to take my D4. Being on a bike space is at a premium as is protection from bumps and vibration. Last year I took my D300s and a 10-24mm and it all tucked away neatly into a Lowepro Toploader Zoom AW 45. It was nice and compact and fit neatly into one of the boxes on my bike. Unfortunately, the bag won't fit a pro body.
Does anyone know of a similar bag that will accommodate a pro body and small(er) lens, providing protection in minimal amount of space? I would be putting this bag into it's own dry bag, so water protection is not an issue.
I just wrap mine in a down jacket. Fits easily into the top case or one of the side cases. My D4 with 24-70 fits nicely in an old LowePro Orion with room for a flash or another lens, but I find that wrapping it up in a down jacket is easier, quicker, and gives me the luxury of the jacket when I want it.
