I've had this lens for a while now, and I have to say that I'm really enjoying it. The focus is faster than anything but the AFS and perhaps the AFI Nikkors, the AFI is about as fast for normal use, I suspect that the AFI should be faster to AF with a TC. Even so the focus is very fast without any TCs, but with the 2x it is only OK. Perhaps with a faster body (rather than an F80 it might be better). I'll post some images if people are interested, I'm interested to hear what other people think of this glass.

Just curious, I was considering this lens for awhile, I have a simple question... The TC you used... was it a Nikon or a Tokina? I often wondered about the results of using this Tokina 300 f2.8 with a Nikon TC20E teleconverter.
Again, just curious, so any reply would be nice.
