Again I have a question. If someone could please tell me the difference between a zoom lens and a telephoto lens. Thanks again for everyones time and help. Jim

They are not mutually exclusive.
A zoom lens is one that can change focal lengths, for instance, an 80-200mm zoom, or a 17-35mm zoom. A lens that does not change focal lengths is often refered to as a prime lens, or simply a fixed focal length lens.
A telephoto lens is one with a focal length longer than "normal", which is around 50mm. Lenses with shorter focal lengths are called wide angle lenses.
Thus, a zoom could be either a wide angle or a telephoto. Likewise, a prime lens could also.
