I bet I'm not the first for this to have happened to, my CP filter came off during a hike. And I'd moved on two and half miles before I'd noticed. So no chance of finding it. I'd tightened it on properly and the outer ring seemed to move easily, so I'm at a bit of a loss to how it happened.
Does anyone have any tips to securely mount theses type of filters. I guess I could attach/detach before and after each use. But that seems a bit of a hassle. Or perhaps I could swerve a CP altogether and go for a ND or such. A filter that has no chance of unwinding itself because I'm not spinning an outer ring.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
