Hi all;

Unless I am misreading the compatibility chart at this site, it doesn't seem like the folks here report the TC-14a works with this lens. The Nikonusa TC compatibility chart also doens't have a check by the TC-14a.

However, a few sites
http://www.outbackphoto.com/reviews/equipment/Nikon_VR_80_400/Nikon_VR_80_400_TC_14A.html

for one, show that everything is happy- in fact the photos @ the above link look better than I would have expected.

I have some select scenarios (like the above link- plenty of light, etc etc) where I'd like to try a TC on this lens, but I do not want to break anything!

I'd rather use the TC-14a rather than the TC-201, which Nikon's manual and charts list as compatible.

Am I misreading the various charts that are out there? Or will this work, defining "work" as "record an image at all zoom positions without breaking lens or camera body" : )

Thanks,

Brian.
