I've been trying to come up with an answer on what is the appropriate ND filter for me. The price difference between Cokin, Singh-Ray, Lee, is sometimes as much as a few hundred dollars for a filter!
Is it worth it?

I have good glass (Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8, ...) so I don't want to risk of degrading image quality because of cheap filters.

My budget is around $300 for grad ND filters. What do you recommend? I'm looking to shoot landscapes.
I'm not sure whether I want the graduated filters or hard filters ... I guess a combination of both is nice?

Thanks for your advice!
